This is a plein air painting from July, painted in the late afternoon on Cheticamp Island, near the Cheticamp Lighthouse.  I named it Falling Cow Cliffs after my friends I was staying with told me about seeing a cow that was standing on the edge of the cliff fall into the Gulf of St Lawrence last summer.  To reach this point and the lighthouse, you drive slowly over a dirt road over some cattle guards and through herds of cattle grazing.  Now there is an electric fence along the edge to keep the cows from repeating that mistake. Also keeps painters from going over, too!
