A plein air painting I did while at Hope Valley in mid-October. This is a beautiful valley where I have cross-country skied in the winter. This was my first time here in the fall where I was inspired to paint the autumn colors of the willows, aspens, drying grasses and sage. I did this painting from the Luther Pass Trail, which was one of the trails the settlers used to cross the mountains in the mid-1800s.
